Editorial Review for Partington Cove – by Steven Jenkins
In Short
Unmarked on the highway, the wonderfully windswept Partington Cove takes some know-how to find and explore. This is pirate territory--or at least it should be, given the cove's mysterious network of lagoons and age-old rocks under which fortunes might well be buried. Local lore has it that ships loaded with riches used to dock here, yet one look at the narrow waterways and crashing waves makes you wonder how on earth the ships survived such a dangerous landing.

Insider Tips
Know Before You GoThe cove is off of Highway 1, just 8 miles south of town.
Look GoodKeep your eyes open for a row of colorful mailboxes along Partington Ridge on the highway's west side, then head downhill and take a hairpin turn that leads to a turnout. Go around the locked gate (don't worry, it's legal), cross the footbridge over Partington Creek, then go through a tunnel and out to the cove.
